Peripheral artery disease is caused by plaque buildup on the walls of the arteries – called atherosclerosis. It affects the peripheral arteries, which are the arteries that pump blood away from the heart to body parts like arms and legs. PAD most commonly occurs in the lower extremities, causing pain, cramping, discoloration, slower hair heart, a reduced pulse, and other symptoms to the legs and feet. Modern Vascular specializes in the diagnosing of PAD and minimally invasive endovascular procedures that treat the disease.
